What Causes Excessive Itching Near Labia Along With Redness And Soreness?

I have a very itchy area in my labia. The skin has broken down and is red raw and sore. I am almost 50 years old but not in the menopause as far as I am aware. I have a coil and do not have periods. I am not suffering from discharge and the itchiness does not seem like thrush. Do I need to go to the GP. I do not use any scented products as I have sensitive skin.
