What Causes Extreme Irritation On Removal Of Patch?

My girlfriend who s 65 years old, had a hysterectomy five years ago. She was wearing the patch and everything was fine but she she had a heart attach so she s stopped using the patch. She s now extremely irritable to the point we may have to get a divorce. I d like to know if there s a way for her to have estrogen in her body without putting her life at risk.
