What Causes Extreme Pain On Face Along With Redness And Tightness?

Hello. Recently I have been experiencing extreme pain on my face (cheeks mainly) my face is red burning and feels very tight. The skin on my face is now starting to peel off and is extremely painful to touch. Anything including just plain water on my face causes it to burn so much. It is very painful. My GP seems to think I had an allergic reaction at first but this was over a week ago and my symptoms are not getting any better. Please help !
