What Causes Extreme Pressure Inside The Head?

My head feels like there is a balloon inflating inside my skull wanting to break out. I also have a migraine with it and the migraine medicine I have hasn't worked for the past couple days. I was wondering if I should go to the hospital or wait until I see my doctor next month.
