What Causes Facial And Body Sores With Pain?

Hi I have a friend who is staying with me but she has extremely bad sores on her face and body but mainley the face they are very big and looks very painful and never seem to go away, I want 2 no what it could be as I have 2 small children and I dont want them to get it, and would very much like to help her with it...
