What Causes Feeling Of A Knot In Throat?

I am 32 years old, last year was having alot of hot spells as a result i went to my family doctor and she ran blood test. I have high calcuim in my blood. i saw a endocrinoligist and he thinks i may have FHH. This has been a year ago and now I am experiencing the feeling of a knot in my throat. i can not feel the knot wil my fingers. It feels like some one is constanly putting there finger on the left side of my throat.
