What Causes Fever , Headache And Body Pain?

My family is taking vivotif for a trip to Central America. After the 2nd dose my husband started coming down with fever, aches, headache and general weakness. He took the 3 rd dose and still has the flu-like symptoms. He is due for the 4th and last dose this evening. Could this be a side effect to the Vivotif or does he just have the flu which is around our area recently? Our 11 year old daughter took her 3rd dose on Friday and vomited 1 hour later and continued vomiting a few more times for 8 hours. Was weak the last 2 days and is also supposed to take her final dose tonight. Should they take the final dose and will my daughter be protected since she probably vomited up the 3rd dose?
