What Causes Fever, Sore Throat And Dizziness In A Child?

Is there need for concern. 11 year old child, perfectly fine last night, high fever, sore throat, complaining of sore back. Unfortunately we do not have a thermometer, but she is VERY warm. Trying cold compress. She is feeling very dizzy, very poorly. Suggestions, please?
