What Causes Fever With Cough And Sneezing?

Hello, my husband has been very sick for about 2 weeks already he said his chest and throat feel hot. He has lots of drainage coming from his nose and eyes. I took him to the emergency room last week and they put him on an antibiotic and inhaler. It did not work he is still very sick I have tried everything over the counter nothing seems to be working. He is constantly sneezing and some coughing. What is wrong with him?
