What Causes Flaky Scalp With Bumps Oozing Pus?

(1) The ring worm culture came back negative. (2) The scalp got worse. (3) It s flaky, Honey colored, oozing pus and (2yr old) scratches to blood. (4) We went back to doctor today and she prescribed griseofulvin which seems to be for ring worm which we are pretty sure he doesn t have/is not the issue...The side effect of griseofulvin seem pretty severe to be using unnecessarily. please advise???
