What Causes Flashing Light In Eyes With Loss Of Peripheral Vision?

I am having trouble with my vision today - i have not experienced this before. I was seeing flashing like a strobe light - that has now stopped, but now my peripherial vision is off. I think i need to go to a doctor, but I am not sure what type of doctor to search for.
