What Causes Flashing Sensation In Corners Of Eyes And Headaches?

I started experiencing what i describe as a flashing in the corner of my left eye as of about 2 months ago. I looked it up to see if I should be concerned and it seems to be ocular migraines although I don't get other symptoms like the headaches (never have had a problem with migraines in the past). What concerns me is that I only get it in my left eye. Should I seek an appointment with an ophthalmologist or other eye specialist?
