What Causes Flesh Colored Mole On The Penis?

My fiance of 3 years has recently developed over the last 6 months a flat, flesh colored mole like thing on the shaft of his penis. I do not have anything similar on my vagina and it does not bother him at all. It does not seem to be genital warts since there is only one. I'm wondering what it might be.
