What Causes Fluttering Sensation In Back Of Kidney?

around where my kidneys are at my back i am experiencing a fluttering intermittent sensation, that lasts for several minutes at a time on my left hand side. its not painful and it only happens occasionally , i noticed it about 4 weeks ago but it is still present. what is it likely to be? many thanks
