What Causes Foaming From Mouth Of A New Born Infant Indicate?

My daughter has a three week old baby. She had released stool in uterine and the delivery was c section several hours later. Baby was in hospital for a week after delivery. In the last two days she has twice had thickening foaming substance coming from mouth. What is going on with her?
