What Causes Frequent Involuntary Widening Of Eyes?

mY child keeps widening his eyes sometimes several times in a few minutes. Age 5 . eyes were checked last week at the optometrist but only discovered mild far sightedness. No glasses required at this stage apparently.
He has just started school and a bit tired could this be the cause or should he be taken to a specialist?
