What Causes Frequent Nose Bleeds After Facial Injury?

my son was punched in the face on the cheek bone a couple of months ago. he still has a mark where the bruise was there. he has in the last few days been having nosebleeds from the nostril which is the same side he was punched on. it is only a slight bleed but we are worried about why this could be?
