What Causes Green Mucus In Nose With Persistent Cough?

Hello,i have had a persistent cough for sometime now. It begins with green mucus from nose and also coughing. Then it disappears to a persistent tickle cough. Ive been to doctors before,they have issued anti biotics, and have said it could be hayfever. it is still returning though? What could it be?
