What Causes Greenish Discharge During Menopause?

Hi, I am just about to turn 50 and am going through some stage of menopause. Lately I have a thick greenish discharge that is smells. In addition to that, just in the last few weeks, I have noticed small black grains also in the discharge, that, when rubbed between two fingers gives the appearance almost of soot. This is freaking me out. I have an appointment to see a gynaecologist but have to wait a month to see her. Could you please give me some advice as to what this is. Thanks
