What Causes Grubby Around Mouth, Chin And Lip After Shaving?

I am a 20 year old woman, and i recently got so fed up having lots of fine white hairs around my mouth and on my chin and top lip that i shaved them off with a venus razor, and now the area around my mouth looks grubby no matter how much i wash my face. Could this be because i shaved? And will it go away because it's embarassing :(
