What Causes Hair Loss Post Menopause?

I am 60 years old and in post menopause. I m losing my hair at an alarming rate. Wondering if my hormones are going crazy. This has happened before but stopped after a couple weeks. My concern: I m not going to have much hair left at this rate. Also I m very low in iron.
