What Causes Hallucinations In Sleep?

ok well I was just googling about seeing spiders that are not actually there when I wake up suddenly at night...it does not happen frequently but it has always happened (or at least since I have been an adult so 13 years ish ) They are very clear , not fuzzy and they move and the last one was big ....just trying to figure out why they happen
