What Causes Hard Knot Behind The Ear In A Child?

my two year old son has a hard knot behind his ear...it seems large, hard with no discoloration to the skin color. He is not sick nor has fallen to hurt himself (I have been with him all day) should I take him to urgent care or wait until Monday to take him to his pediatrician? Is this cause for serious concern?
