What Causes Hard Lump Under Tongue Post Tongue Piercing?

hi. i had got my tongue pierced and it started to bleed so i got nervous and took it out the same night. the next day i looked in the mirror and under my tongue is a hard lump and looks bloody and my veins are swollen. did she hit a vein or is this just part of the healing process from scar tissue
