What Causes Hard Pea Size Lump In My Groin Area?

I found a hard pea size lump in my groin area where my inner thigh meets my groin area. I noticed it about a year ago. I thought it had gone away but noticed again today. It is small, hard and does not move. It is only a little painful when pressing directly on it. Cancerous?
