What Causes Headache And Clogged Ear?

I have been having sahrp pains in the back of my head periodically for about a week and a half. It also often feels like a lot of pressure in the same area. I have also felt like my ear has been plugged for about a month off and on. My ear began to hurt five days ago and I went to the doctor and have an ear infection. My ear was red and there was fluid built up behind it. I went back to the doctor on Monday for a follow up with my regular doctor. She said that my sinuses are inflammed and she thinks that head pain is from my sinuses being plugged and the fluid not draining. I am on an antibiotic and also flonase and zyrtec to try to clear things up. It has been two days since I was in to see the doctor and I was told that if the pain wasn't better by Friday, they will probably send me to a neurologist. I take 800mg of ibuprofen at a time. The pain usually goes away, but I still have a lot of pressure. Could it be from my sinuses or should it have improved by now? Do I need to be concerned that it is something more serious? SH
