What Causes Headache And Sinus Congestion?

It seems that I have a Preauricular Sinus on both ears... lately I've been experiencing headaches concentrated to the right side of my head. Coincidently, that is the area of my head where the sinus has been hurting and has shown some swelling and discharge. Please let me know I am not in any immediate danger of this infection spreading to my brain or anything like that. That's the last thing I would want. Please help!
