What Causes Headaches With Stiffness In Neck?

I am 50 years old and have been many different symtpoms over the last week. It started with a severe headache followed by a stiff neck. All our local doctors have poo-pooed it as a viral. I have not been able to stay awake and i have a whooshing sound in my ears and i am having some problems with speech and coordination.. any suggestions.
