What Causes Hearing Problems?

hi, i m 22 year old doing engineering. i have hearing problems for past 3 years, first it was only in one year that almost lost hearing capability now it is extending to other ear. i consult the local doctors they day u have to use hearing aid but they didnt say what causes this condition.
