What Causes Heart Palpitations?

what are the main causes of an irregular heart beat. I ve had it for 35 years. I don t drink coffee or tea. EKG always show no problem. Wore a 24 hr. monitor and was told I didn t have AFIB. What else causes these symptoms and what can I do to prevent it.
