What Causes Heavy And Prolonged Period After Having D&C?

I have been having menstrual bleeding for ten days now and it is getting heavier by the day I had an abnormal pap smear two months ago and had a d and c in 2000 due to over growth of uterine lining. I have also been diagnosed with ovarian cysts. Should I go to the emergency room and been seen I have a gyno appointment in two days but I am not sure that I can wait that long to be seen by a doctor.
