What Causes Heavy Bleeding Between Periods?

hi i have a problem with heavy bleeding i usually have my period on or around the 18th of every month but i started bleeding again on the first and still am to date at first it was a heavy flow of bright red blood then a few days later it turned brown but it is still very heavy this is making me feel exhausted what do u think it could be im 30 yrs old
