What Causes Heavy Bleeding From A Purple Dot On Lip?

Hi there, my daughter had a small purple dot on her lip. I didn't think much of it until she was eating her lunch. She started to bleed heavily on the lip. So much blood came out. It was everywhere. There were signs of a cut, only this purple dot in the morning. Any ideas what it could be?
