What Causes Heavy Bleeding Inspite Of Taking Medroxyprogesterone?

I had the mirena inserted in april 2014 as it has been almost a year of no bleeding and now i m bleeding for almost 2 weeks. Saw my doctor last week and he gave me medroxyprogesterone to stop the bleeding but it has made it heavier...wondering what to do.
