What Causes Heavy Periods After Stopping Prednisolone For Ulcerative Colitis?

Am having an unusually extremely heavy period with lots of clots - day & night. Last week I came off prednisolone for recently diagnosed Ulcerative Colitis. I am still on Asacol & Azathrioprine. Could any of these be the cause of excessive clotting & bleeding I am going through today?
