What Causes Heavy Periods With Blood Clots?

Hello, Im 24 and have had my copper IUD for almost 5 years. Well my normal period is only 5 days and its normal. But this period has lasted 10 days and is heavy and lot of blood clots not big just alot. Im a little worried and just wondering why I might be doing this. Please help.
