What Causes Heavy Spotting In The Mid Of Menstruation Cycle?

I tested positive for chlamydia three weeks ago. I took the recommended dose of zithromax and have abstained from sex. I am still experiencing heavy spotting in between periods and abnormal discharge. I had a pelvic exam done and everything appeared normal. Could I still have chlamydia or something else?
