What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding After Having Cervix Cauterized?

Hi, I've had my cervix cauterized last week, Tuesday. I have been passing enormous clots (looks like to size of golf balls) from about two hours ago and I'm bleeding heavily. I also have sever pain, even after taking paracetamol. Is this to be expected after a cauterization? (I'm 34, weight: 71kg. Dr also removed a band that grew between my uterus and abdominal wall (following c-sections) as well as my mirena. He did a D&C as well)
