What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding When Diagnosed With A Fibroid?

Yes hi, can u help me im a 50 year old women and been to my gyn 3 months ago and been having heavy bleeding for the last 2 years but i always get it for a week but had test done and told me i have a 5 point fibroid she said its not very big but this month i had it for over 2 weeks now and heavy still could u tell me if its cause im changing life or what dont know but concerned ,thanks
