What Causes High Heart Rate When Suffering From Severe Asthma And COPD?

Hi Dr. I went to visit my gp yesterday and he took my Blood pressure. it was 180/110 and My Heart rate 124. He sent me for blood tests today and will take 2 more bp Readings before he decides to put me on bp medications. I am 56 years old a nd female who has Severe asthma and cOPD never smoked.
