What Causes Hot And Cold Flashes With Excess Sweating?

I m a 37 year old femaile. Typically healthly. I have been having cold and hot flashes for years. Today I ve been almost sweating to laying under two blankets. My heart does feel like it is racing. I m also tired (wishing it was bed time). Is this just a hormonal thing or what?
