What Causes Hot Flashes And Drowsiness After Switching To Venlafaxine From Time-release?

I am currently taking venlafaxine capsules @150 mg. one per day. I switched from the time released tablets, same mg. and dosage. I am now experiencing hot flashes and sleeping 16 hours a day. Could this be the result of switching from tablet to capsule?
