What Causes Hot Flashes And Mood Swings?

Hey I am 19 yrs old and I get hot flashes every now and again and I have been very moody with somethings. I get really hot for a few mins and then I am back to normal and sometimes after a hot flas I get cold what does this mean is it hot flashes or just my body acting up ?
