What Causes Indent Above The Thigh?

About one and a half years ago I began noticing a small indent on my lower thigh above my knee more recently I've notice it got even bigger. When I first noticed it I did mention it to my orthopedic surgeon but he didn't seem to think anything of it. Should I be concerned. Could it be some form of cancer?
