What Causes Indent Along With Sharp Pain In Jaw Bone?

On my left side of my lower, I have an indent in my chin bone i don't know what it is? It sometimes sends a sharp pain and is very uncomfortable to sleep! Also my left cheek seems to swell. I have had this for a while now and I'm starting to worry about it!!
