What Causes Infected Lump Below Collar Bone?

I had a bb size bump on chest just below collar bone. It had a hole in it and was kind of grey. I have had it for 2-3 years. It had gotton bigger and today it popped and yellow pussy really smell discharge came out and now it is flat no bump but the hole is still there. What could this of been?
