What Causes Inflamed Lump At The Bottom Of Scrotum In A Child?

Hi, my 9 year old son has what looks like a boil or spot at the bottom of his scrotum. It s causing him a lot of discomfort & its very inflamed! I m going to take him to the doctors tomorrow but is the anything I can give him or put on it to help him. Thank you
