What Causes Inflammation And Itching In Throat?

I have a feeling in my throat, as well as inflammation, like something/s is/are crawling around. Not just scratchiness. It might be in my head but I m not sure if it means some kind of parasitic or fungal infection. After I gargle antiseptic it s almost a feeling like whatever s in there starts freaking out and running around! Yesterday at one stage I had a sensation like whatever it was dislodged and fell down, but it s happening again today. Feels like it s at the back of my throat on my right tonsil. I had kind of a rough cold/flu sort of thing a few weeks ago, but I started to get better, then this started. Any ideas? Worth going to the doctor about?
