What Causes Inflammation In Stomach Under Ribs?

My stomach jsut under my ribs feels inflammed, I feel as though sometimes its hard to swallow. I am also getting short sharp pain radiating up my left side to my cheek. I also seem to have a metallic taste in my mouth when I drink water? Not sure whats going on.
