What Causes Inflammation Of Eustachian Tube?

I have had a sense of my throat and ears closing up. It feels like pressure deep in my ears and throat. I looked up eustachitis in my medical dictionary and it describes inflammation of the Eustachian tube. What causes this? Must I see an ENT for tx?
